ESD sweatshirts provide reliable electrostatic discharge protection through conductive carbon or metal-fibre grids woven directly into the fabric, achieving surface resistances of 10⁵-10⁷ Ω and charge decay times under 0.1 s - fully compliant with IEC 61340-5-1 and EN 1149-5. Unlike conventional workwear, ESD-certified sweatshirts are tested at each seam and sleeve cuff to ensure continuous conductivity across the entire garment, keeping body voltage below the critical 100 V threshold inside a controlled EPA (Electrostatic Protected Area).
