Grounding systems
ESD protection
ESD grounding systems ensure the reliable dissipation of static charges from personnel, equipment, and workpieces to earth potential. Without a functioning grounding system, no EPA protection concept per DIN EN 61340-5-1 can be maintained: grounding cables with connectors, heel strap sets, wrist straps with protective resistors, grounding boxes, and grounding modules form the technical foundation of every EPA zone. The range covers components from simple snap-connector cables to central grounding boxes with multiple connection points for personnel and machinery.
Grounding bricksModular grounding blocks compatible with benches, profiles and frames
Wrist StrapsSingle-wire and dual-wire wrist straps with 1 MΩ protective resistor
Grounding boxesCentral grounding boxes with multiple connection points for personnel and machinery
Coiled CordsGrounding cables, snap and plug connectors for EPA zones
Grounding materialGrounding strips, plates and bonding material for surfaces and frames
Foot GroundersSingle-use and reusable heel straps for standing personnel grounding
Complete personnel grounding requires at least a wrist strap or pair of heel straps with dissipative resistor, plus a grounding cable connecting to the earth point. Grounding boxes consolidate multiple connection points at a fixed wall location, simplifying periodic testing. Grounding modules integrate directly into ESD bench frames or profile systems. For rotating users or visitors, single-use heel straps that are discarded after a single shift are recommended. The choice between wrist strap and heel strap depends on task: wrist straps suit seated work, heel straps suit standing or walking activities.
Typical applications: Mandatory EPA zone compliance in electronics manufacturing (DIN EN 61340-5-1), repair and rework workstations for ESD-sensitive assemblies, visitor access to EPA zones using single-use heel straps, semiconductor manufacturing and wafer handling, medical device production, and aerospace assembly with documented personnel grounding.
