Burst & Zick - machines for electronic component preparation

Cutting, bending, forming and straightening electronic component leads - precise and repeatable.

Burst & Zick is a German manufacturer of machines for processing the leads of electronic components. The range covers cutting, stamping and bending devices as well as straightening machines for integrated circuits (ICs), addressing the complete preparation of leaded components before placement.

The devices are built for daily use in production, test and repair. Matching component feeders, cutting tools, springs and spare parts complement the machines into a consistent system for automated component preparation.

Choosing the right component preparation machine

By operation

First define the process you need: cutting trims the leads, bending forms them to the required hole pitch, and stamping creates defined stand-offs. The C series combines these steps depending on the model.

Axial or radial

The component package decides the right device:

  • Axial (e.g. resistors, diodes) - devices such as the C 034 for axial parts.
  • Radial (e.g. capacitors) - devices such as the C 057 for radial parts.

Straightening ICs

Bent leads on integrated circuits cause placement errors. An A series IC straightening machine forms the leads back to the correct pitch - variants with or without a digital display are available.

Feeders and spare parts

Continuous operation relies on matching component feeders (GBU, TO220) and a stock of wear parts such as cutting tools and springs. Make sure the accessory is assigned to the correct device type.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Burst & Zick

What does Burst & Zick manufacture?

Burst & Zick is a German manufacturer of machines for component preparation in electronics production. The range includes cutting, stamping and bending devices as well as straightening machines for integrated circuits.

What is an IC straightening machine used for?

An IC straightening machine forms the bent leads of integrated circuits back to the correct pitch so the parts can be placed without errors. At Burst & Zick this is handled by the A series, for example the A 075 RI.

What is the difference between axial and radial devices?

Axial devices process components with leads on opposite sides, such as resistors or diodes, while radial devices handle parts with leads on one side, such as capacitors. The choice depends on the component package.

Are matching component feeders available?

Yes. Feed systems such as GBU and TO220 supply the components automatically to the processing devices and are each assigned to specific device types, for example the C 068.

Are tools and spare parts available?

Yes. Cutting tools, springs, discs and adjusting parts - for example for the C043 family of devices - are available as wear and spare parts so the machines stay in service over the long term.
