Choosing the right Chemtronics consumables
Select a swab by head and handle
Choose the swab by head material and task:
- Polyester swabs pick up residue well and shed little lint - suited to sensitive contacts and optics.
- Foam swabs are absorbent and soft - good for applying and picking up liquids.
- For ESD areas use versions with a dissipative handle. The head size (for example 3.0 / 3.7 / 5.4 mm) depends on how accessible the spot is.
Use cleaning wipes correctly
Wipes differ in material and format. Pure polyester wipes are especially low-lint for critical surfaces, while polyester/cellulose blends offer more absorbency for general cleaning. For optics and fibre there are presaturated and dry specialty wipes.
Desoldering braid for clean rework
Copper desoldering braid absorbs molten solder by capillary action. Match the braid width to the joint; No-Clean versions leave only minimal flux residue and suit repairs without a subsequent cleaning step.
