Solder cartridges
Soldering and desoldering tips
Metcal Lötpatronen - also known as cartridge heaters or SmartHeat cartridges - integrate the heating element and tip in a single replaceable unit, delivering tip temperatures stabilized within ±1 °C and thermal recovery times under 1 second. Operating at 29 V AC with power outputs ranging from 40 W to 120 W depending on cartridge type, these units use Connection Validation (CV) technology to confirm reliable solder joint formation - eliminating cold joints without operator judgment. Resistance values at the solder interface are continuously monitored to meet IEC 61191 and IPC J-STD-001 process requirements.
As an authorized Metcal distributor, esd.equipment supplies the full range of Metcal CV and MX cartridge series - including GT, CV, STTC, and SMTC families - compatible with MX-500, MX-5200, MFR-1100, and PS-900 soldering stations. Each cartridge is RoHS-compliant and certified for lead-free alloy processes, with tip geometries covering chisel, conical, bevel, knife, and micro configurations for fine-pitch SMD work down to 0402 and 01005 component sizes.
