Soldering tips PTTC - TEC
Soldering and desoldering tips
The Metcal PTTC soldering tip series is engineered for precision hand soldering with Metcal MX and MFR soldering stations, delivering tip temperatures stabilized within ±1 °C through the patented SmartHeat technology - a passive closed-loop system that automatically adjusts power output to maintain thermal equilibrium at the joint without the need for manual temperature control. PTTC tips are manufactured from oxygen-free copper with a multi-layer nickel-iron alloy and chrome plating, providing a working life typically exceeding 100,000 cycles under IPC-7711/7721 rework conditions. Available in chisel, bevel, conical, and micro-series geometries with tip diameters from 0.2 mm to 6.4 mm, the series covers applications from fine-pitch SMD (IPC-A-610 Class 3) down to 0201 components.
As a specialist distributor for professional soldering equipment, esd.equipment stocks 26 PTTC series tips, covering the full range of Metcal-compatible tip geometries and power cartridge combinations. All tips comply with IEC 61340-5-1 ESD-safe handling requirements and are compatible with Metcal MX-500, MX-5200, and MFR-1110 stations. Each cartridge integrates heater and tip into a single replaceable unit, ensuring consistent thermal performance and eliminating calibration drift over the product lifetime.
