Soldering tips PTTC
Soldering and desoldering tips
The PTTC series covers series 700 temperature class (412 °C) soldering tips for Metcal MX handpieces. All variants are blade-shaped or conical and suited to high-power soldering applications requiring greater heat input. Conical tips range from 0.4 mm (PTTC-701, 0.4 x 19 mm straight or PTTC-701B, 0.4 x 14.3 mm bent 30°) through to wide blade tips at 28 mm width (PTTC-707). Angled blade tips (PTTC-708B, PTTC-706, PTTC-704) ease lateral access in tight PCB layouts.
| Model | Shape | Dimensions (W x L mm) |
|---|---|---|
| PTTC-701 | Conical straight | 0.4 x 19 |
| PTTC-701B | Conical bent 30° | 0.4 x 14.3 |
| PTTC-702 | Blade | 1.3 x 16.5 |
| PTTC-703 | Blade | 2 x 16.5 |
| PTTC-704 | Blade bent 22° | 6.35 x 12.7 |
| PTTC-706 | Blade bent 22° | 20.5 x 12.7 |
| PTTC-707 | Blade bent 22° | 28 x 12.7 |
| PTTC-708B | Blade bent 30° | 3.5 x 12.1 |
Typical applications: High-power soldering on PCBs with heavy copper layers or high thermal mass, busbar and current rail contact joining (wide PTTC blades 20-28 mm), drag-soldering of SMD IC pin rows requiring heat input above series 600 level, and lead-free rework applications using high-temperature alloys.
