ESD Ionization - ESD (antistatic)
ESD equipment
ESD ionizers neutralise electrostatic charges on non-conductive materials and insulators that cannot be dissipated by grounding alone. Blow-moulded parts, films, PCBs in production, and packaging materials accumulate high field intensities that ionised air reduces to uncritical levels. The range covers six product groups: compressed-air ionizing guns and nozzles, overhead ionizers for work surfaces, ionizing bars for conveyor systems, bench-top units for stationary workstations, nozzle ionizers in the IZN10 series, and accessories such as power supplies, adapters, and spare parts.
ESD compressed-air ionizersIonizing guns and nozzles for targeted neutralisation with compressed air
ESD overhead ionizersCeiling and wall mounting for area ionization at assembly workstations
ESD ionizing barsStationary ionizing bars for conveyor and packaging systems
Ionizer accessoriesPower supplies, adapters, replacement emitter tips and cables
ESD bench-top ionizersCompact desk ionizers for individual workstations and laboratories
ESD nozzle ionizersIZN10 series, nozzle design for machine installation and confined spaces
Device selection depends on the work area, distance to the charge source, and the required level of automation. Compressed-air ionizing guns (Simco TG3, COBRA, SCS 980E, VIPER ION GUN) suit manual, targeted neutralisation directly at the processing station. Overhead devices and ionizing bars provide continuous area ionisation above conveyor belts and assembly lines. Bench-top units create a stationary ionisation zone for individual workstations. IZN10 series nozzle ionizers and the Simco ORION / Blowflex Easy Inline are designed for machine installation in automated and pick-and-place systems. Effectiveness must be verified regularly using a charged plate monitor.
Typical applications: SMT manufacturing and pick-and-place machines (neutralisation of PCBs and component tapes), packaging lines and film processing (discharge before sealing), compressed-air ionization at rework and repair workstations, conveyor systems in semiconductor and medical device manufacturing, and laboratories with insulating materials (DIN EN 61340-5-1).
