Soldering tips STDC

Soldering and desoldering tips

The Metcal STDC series soldering tips are precision-engineered cartridge-style tips designed for use with Metcal SmartHeat connection systems. Featuring a curie-point thermal regulation mechanism, each tip self-regulates to its fixed operating temperature - eliminating overshoot and maintaining stable tip temperatures within ±1 °C under load. Tip geometries span fine conical points (0.1 mm) through to chisel profiles up to 6.4 mm, covering a full range of SMT pad sizes and through-hole applications. All STDC tips meet the soldering process requirements defined under IPC J-STD-001 and are compatible with lead-free alloys (SAC305) as well as traditional tin-lead formulations.

esd.equipment supplies 22 individual STDC tip variants directly from stock, covering conical, chisel, bevel, and knife profiles for Metcal SP200, MX-500, and compatible handpieces. As a specialist distributor for professional soldering technology, the range is sourced from Metcal's authorised supply chain and complies with IEC 60950 and ESD control requirements per IEC 61340-5-1 for use in EPA-compliant workstations.

Key technical advantages - STDC Soldering Tips at a glance
SmartHeat self-regulation ±1 °C - curie-point technology, no external temperature controller required
Tip widths 0.1-6.4 mm - conical, chisel, bevel, and knife profiles for all pad geometries
🛠 Tool-free cartridge change - snap-fit connection, under 5 seconds swap time
Compatible: SP200, MX-500 - drop-in fit for Metcal SmartHeat handpiece platforms
🛡 IPC J-STD-001 compliant - qualified for Class 2 and Class 3 soldering processes
Lead-free and tin-lead ready - suitable for SAC305 and Sn63Pb37, IEC 61340-5-1 EPA compatible
