Mechanically and manually operated directional control valves
Valves
Festo mechanically and manually operated directional control valves switch pneumatic circuits without an electrical actuator. The range spans foot valves (F-3-1/4-B, F-5-1/4-B, FO-3-1/4-B), foot-latch valves (FP-3-1/4-B, FP-5-1/4-B), toggle lever valves (H-5/3-1/4, H-5/3-1/2, KH/O-3-PK-3), push-button valves (K-3-M5, F-3-M5), roller trip valves (L-3-M5, L-3-1/4-B) and spring-rod valves (FVS-3-1/8, FVSO-3-1/8). 185 articles cover 2/2, 3/2 and 5/2 switching functions.
Hand-lever valves (H-3-1/4-B), cam valves (H-4/3-M5), selector switches (HW-6-38) and roller trip valves with or without detent (L, LO series) round out the range. Port sizes from M5 and PK-3 to G 1/2 cover miniature applications through standard automation.
| Type | Example | Switching function |
|---|---|---|
| Foot valve (momentary) | F-3-M5, F-3-1/4-B | 3/2, spring return, foot push actuation |
| Foot latch valve | FP-3-1/4-B, FP-5-1/4-B, FPB-3-1/4 | 3/2 or 5/2, latching, foot lever |
| Toggle lever valve | H-5/3-1/4, KH/O-3-PK-3 | 5/3 or 3/2, toggle lever, with/without detent |
| Push-button valve | K-3-M5, K/O-3-PK-3 | 3/2, push-button, spring return |
| Roller trip valve | L-3-M5, L-3-1/4-B, LO-3-1/4-B | 3/2, roller actuation, with/without detent |
| Spring-rod valve | FVS-3-1/8, FVSO-3-1/8 | 3/2, spring rod, normally open or closed |
| Hand lever / selector | H-3-1/4-B, H-4/3-M5, HW-6-38 | 3/2, 4/3 or multi-position selector |
Latching valves (FP, LO, KH/O) hold their switched position without continued actuation. Non-latching types return to initial position via spring. For two-hand safety applications, paired foot valves or push-button valves with short response spacing are required. The PK-3 clip port suits 3 mm tubing; -B-suffix valves offer enhanced sealing. The HW-6-38 selector switch allows up to six positions in a single unit.
Typical applications: Hand-operated presses and punch tooling with foot actuation, two-hand safety controls using foot valve pairs, position and limit sensing via roller trip valves in conveying and handling lines, manual changeover on test rigs, and emergency stop bypass using latching toggle valves.
