Tool Cases
Tool Sets, Cases and Bags
Tool cases are equipped transport solutions for electronics, electrical installation and telecommunications. Depending on the series the shell is a hard X-ABS moulding, an aluminium frame or cowhide leather, while the interior uses tool panels with slot-in pockets or contour-cut inserts. Cases with VDE contents to IEC 60900 hold only tools that have been individually tested at 10,000 V and marked with the double triangle and the 1000 V rating. In ESD versions the shell itself has to be dissipative, not just the handles. The selection criteria are the number of tools supplied, the transport format, the test status and whether single pieces can be reordered. The range holds 55 articles, led by Bernstein, Knipex, Wiha and Bahco.
| Format | Shell material | Typical contents | Transport |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hard shell case | X-ABS with tool panels | 22 to 81 pieces | Carrying handle |
| Leather case | Cowhide, dimensionally stable | 33 to 35 pieces | Handle, shoulder strap |
| Roller case | Hard shell on wheels | 61 to 124 pieces | Telescopic handle |
| ESD plastic case | Conductive plastic | 14 to 20 pieces | Carrying handle |
| Compact case | Plastic or sheet metal | 12 to 27 pieces | Carrying handle |
Typical applications: electrical installation and control cabinet building with live working up to 1000 V; telecommunications and network engineering in the field; assembly and maintenance of electronic units; service on PC and IT hardware; mobile work with a roller case where the contents are extensive; work inside the EPA with a dissipative case and dissipative tools.
