Safety low shoes

Shoes

ESD safety low shoes combine toe protection to EN ISO 20345 with a dissipative sole construction for workplaces inside the EPA. The shoe itself sits in the antistatic range of 10⁵ to 10⁹ Ω; EN ISO 20345 on its own is not an ESD verification, the decisive figure is the system resistance person-shoe-floor of less than 3,5 x 10⁷ Ω to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The upper ends below the ankle and leaves the ankle joint free to move, which makes the low shoe the standard design for production, laboratory and warehouse. The category holds 249 models in 3,521 sizes from Atlas, PUMA Safety, uvex and Birkenstock in protection classes S1 to S3, sizes 34 to 53 and widths 8 as well as 10 to 14.

Two separate resistance figures - shoe 10⁵ to 10⁹ Ω to EN ISO 20345, system person-shoe-floor < 3,5 x 10⁷ Ω to DIN EN 61340-5-1
Protection classes S1 to S3 - S1 closed heel area, antistatic, energy absorbing heel; S1P adds penetration resistance; S2 adds a water repellent upper; S3 adds penetration resistance and a cleated outsole
Low cut design - the upper ends below the ankle, the ankle joint is not supported and stays mobile
Widths 8 and 10 to 14 - plus regular and narrow lasts, sizes 34 to 53, women's and men's fits
Toe cap in steel, aluminium or fibreglass - 200 J impact energy to EN ISO 20345, fully metal free versions for walk-through detector checks

Typical applications: SMT and THT production in EPA zones where foot protection is also mandatory; goods receipt, order picking and dispatch with forklift traffic; maintenance and machine assembly with penetration hazards; test and service areas with dissipative flooring; air locks and cleanroom ante-rooms with a defined personnel grounding concept; plants with metal detector checks that require fully metal free models.
