Thread inserts are wire thread inserts that create a load bearing metric internal thread to DIN 13 in soft materials such as aluminium, magnesium or plastic, and restore stripped threads. The insert sits in its own oversized thread, cut with an STI tap and fitted with an installation tool, which is why inserts, taps and complete repair kits are listed together. V-COIL inserts are available in stainless steel, zinc plated steel and INCONEL X750, with installation lengths from 1.5 x D.
