Drill Bits
Völkel threading tools
Drill bits produce the core hole for the thread that is cut afterwards and also handle countersinking and deburring in electronics and device manufacturing. For metric coarse threads to DIN 13 the core hole diameter is approximately the nominal diameter minus the pitch, so 5.0 mm for M 6. The range runs from micro twist drills from 0.5 mm through HSS-G twist drills to DIN 338 and centre drills to DIN 333 up to step drills from 4 to 32.5 mm and countersink bits with 1/4 inch hexagon shank. The category holds 77 articles from Völkel, Proxxon, Wiha, C.K and Wera.
| Thread | Pitch | Core hole drill |
|---|---|---|
| M 3 | 0.50 mm | 2.5 mm |
| M 4 | 0.70 mm | 3.3 mm |
| M 5 | 0.80 mm | 4.2 mm |
| M 6 | 1.00 mm | 5.0 mm |
| M 8 | 1.25 mm | 6.8 mm |
| M 10 | 1.50 mm | 8.5 mm |
Typical applications: core holes for threads in housings, front panels and mounting plates; enlarging cable entries in control cabinet building with step drills; centring before drilling on turned parts to DIN 333; countersinking for flat head screws and deburring of holes; fine holes in printed circuit boards and small precision parts.
