Slotted screwdrivers transmit torque through a flat blade into the straight slot of the screw. Blade width and blade thickness have to match the slot, otherwise the blade slips out and damages the head. Blade dimensions are defined in DIN ISO 2380-1 and DIN ISO 2380-2; the range covers widths from 2.0 to 6.5 mm with blade lengths from 25 to 300 mm. Versions with a dissipative handle to IEC 61340-5-1 are available for work inside the EPA, and VDE versions to IEC 60900 for work on live parts.
