Crimping Tools

Stripping, Crimping and Cable Processing

Crimping tools produce the solderless connection between conductor and contact described in DIN EN 60352-2. The quality of the joint depends on crimp height and crimp width; it is verified on the micrograph of the cross section and by pull out force. A ratchet lock prevents the tool from opening before the pressing cycle is complete and keeps the result repeatable across a whole batch. The tools process wire end ferrules to DIN 46228 and cable lugs to DIN 46234 and DIN 46235, plus the common plug contact systems. The range covers 209 articles, with Knipex, Weidmüller, C.K, Wiha, Bernstein and Bahco as the leading brands.

Ratchet lock - opens only after full compression, giving a reproducible crimp height to DIN EN 60352-2
Crimp profile - square, hexagonal, trapezoidal, roll and indent crimp according to contact design
Cross section range 0,08 to 16 mm² - crimp nests graded to wire end ferrules to DIN 46228
Fixed jaw or interchangeable head - system pliers accept exchangeable crimp dies for further contact systems
Length and leverage - 145 to 255 mm tool length, VDE tested versions for work up to 1000 V

Typical applications: terminal wiring in control cabinets using wire end ferrules; wiring harnesses and connector assembly in electronics manufacturing; terminal blocks and distribution boards with cable lugs; network and coaxial work with modular and BNC connectors; test field and prototype build with changing contact systems; maintenance and service cases with VDE requirements.
