Interchangeable Blade Systems
Screwdrivers and Bits
Interchangeable blade systems separate handle and blade: one handle takes an entire series of blades, which cuts weight and space in the tool case compared with sets of fixed blade drivers. System 6 blades are 150 mm long and mostly double ended, so one blade covers two sizes, for example TORX T6 and T8 or slotted 5.5 and 6.5 mm. Torque blades for torque handles are set to fixed release values from 0.8 to 8.0 Nm and limit tightening on sensitive fastenings. The category holds 248 items, the leading brands are Wiha, Bernstein and Wera.
| Blade type | Length | Example profiles | Feature |
|---|---|---|---|
| System 6 double ended | 150 mm | slotted 5.5/6.5 mm, TORX T6/T8 | two sizes per blade |
| System 6 single ended | 150 mm | hex ball end 2.5 to 6.0 mm | ball end for angled engagement |
| TORX torque blade | 175 mm | T7 to T20 | release value 0.9 to 8.0 Nm |
| TORX Plus torque blade | 175 mm | 6IP to 20IP | release value 0.8 to 8.0 Nm |
| Tamper resistant | 150 mm | T20H/T25H | bore for pin type security screws |
Typical applications: Service cases with limited space for field work; test and maintenance stations with frequent profile changes; defined tightening on connectors and terminals using torque blades; assembly of units with mixed drives; maintenance on machines with security screws; workstations where blade wear is compensated without replacing the handle.
