Rugby Rotating Lasers

Leica Geosystems Construction and Surveying

Leica Rugby rotating lasers project a rotating laser plane and are used on site for height transfer, grade setting and alignment. Outdoors the laser is always operated together with a hand-held receiver, only this combination gives working diameters of several hundred metres. The branch covers the instruments and complete kits of the Rugby 610, 620, 640, 640G, 680, CLH and CLA series, the matching Rod Eye receivers and Combo units that join receiver and remote control in one housing. Batteries, tripods, brackets and permanent function upgrades that extend an instrument already in use complete the range.

🌐 Working range - The range in metres applies to operation with a hand-held receiver, from 400 m for interior work up to 1350 m with the CLH kits.
Horizontal or vertical - Horizontal-only units cover height transfer, models with vertical mode such as the Rugby CLA also handle plumb and alignment tasks.
Grade - Manual dial-in grade, semi-automatic or fully automatic grade, in one or two axes, decides how far a unit suits slope work.
Laser colour - Red is the standard for receiver-based work, green units such as the Rugby 640G are easier to see with the naked eye and are aimed at interior fit-out.
📦 Power supply and protection - Alkaline packs or Li-ion exchangeable batteries determine runtime, the IP rating decides use in dust and wet conditions.
