Automatic level with 32 x magnification and an internal glass circle for horizontal angles. It delivers up to 0.7 mm standard deviation per double run kilometre, or 0.3 mm with a parallel plate micrometer. The graduation interval is 1 gon and readings are estimated to 10 mgon. Height, angle and distance are captured with one instrument.

Anyone who needs directions as well as heights normally sets up a second instrument. The Leica NAK2 combines both, a precision level with up to 0.7 mm standard deviation per kilometre of double run levelling and an internal glass circle graduated in 400 gon, read through a scale microscope.

Benefits

  • Internal glass circle with a 70 mm graduation diameter, read through a scale microscope. The graduation interval is 1 gon and readings are estimated to 10 mgon. The NAK2 therefore replaces a separate theodolite for simple detail surveys.
  • Up to 0.7 mm standard deviation per kilometre of double run levelling, depending on staff and procedure. With the GPM3 parallel plate micrometer the figure drops to 0.3 mm.
  • 32 x magnification with a 45 mm clear objective aperture for a bright, erect image. The FOK73 at 40 x and FOK117 at 25 x eyepieces swap in seconds.
  • Compensator with a plus/minus 30 arcminute working range and 0.3 arcsecond setting accuracy, pneumatically damped and screened against magnetic fields. On soft ground the line of sight stays horizontal instead of needing the constant resetting a tubular level demands.
  • A push button under the eyepiece checks the compensator. The staff image swings out and floats back, the check takes under a second.
  • Shortest focusing distance 1.6 m, multiplication factor 100, additive constant 0, so angle, distance and height are captured in one pointing and plotted by the polar method.

Applications

Detail surveys by the polar method using angle, distance and height, setting out right angles and axes in building and civil works, precise levelling and settlement monitoring, alignment of machine foundations and crane rails, height networks in civil engineering.

Compatibility and scope of delivery

The NAK2 works with the GPM3 parallel plate micrometer (reading 0.1 mm, estimation 0.01 mm) and the GPM6 (reading 0.2 mm, estimation 0.05 mm), and with the FOK73 and FOK117 interchangeable eyepieces. Invar staffs read against the wedge hair suit precise work. The instrument ships in a foam padded transport case made of high performance synthetic material.

Standards and origin

Protection class IP53 against dust and spraying water. Operating temperature -20 °C to +50 °C, storage -40 °C to +70 °C. Built by Leica Geosystems AG, Heerbrugg, Switzerland, under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Material number 352039.
