Spelsberg Lichttechnik - LED workplace lighting made in Germany
Spelsberg Lichttechnik is a manufacturer of LED workplace and industrial lighting founded in 2013 and based in Schalksmühle, Germany. Development, production and assembly run under an ISO 9001 certified quality management system, and the workplace luminaires carry the Made in Germany label.
Our range covers the APL Universal (basic and power), APL-I basic-line and APL-II series in lengths from 600 to 1500 mm. Depending on the version, the luminaires are dimmable or come with a motion detector, IR remote control or wireless push button. The VDA 16 variant with three light zones is designed for inspection stations.

Choosing the right Spelsberg luminaire
Optics and application
The basic and basic-line versions use a microprism diffuser. It spreads the light evenly and suits assembly and inspection work, including reflective surfaces. The power version and the APL-II series use a three-row 60° LED optic that delivers high illuminance at low system power.
Series and mounting
- APL Universal: slim 70 x 80 mm profile, lengths 600 to 1500 mm, protection rating IP40.
- APL-I basic-line: wider 135 x 57 mm profile with internal through-wiring for connecting a further luminaire.
- APL-II: same housing as APL-I, with 60° LED optic and UGR < 17.9.
Control and connection
DIM luminaires are dimmed steplessly via an integrated push-button dimmer. sense versions switch via a motion detector, while sense remote DIM combines a presence detector, brightness sensor and IR remote control. App Connect remote DIM is operated wirelessly with a battery-free push button.
Please note when ordering: APL Universal luminaires are supplied without connection cable; the 4 m cable with Schuko plug is an accessory. APL-I, APL-II and the VDA 16 luminaire include it.

What does Spelsberg Lichttechnik make?

What is the difference between basic and power in the APL Universal?
The basic version has a microprism diffuser for even light with Ra > 80 and UGR < 22. The power version uses a frosted three-row 60° LED optic with Ra 85 and UGR < 19 and achieves higher illuminance at the same length.
Is the connection cable included?
Not with the APL Universal: the luminaire is supplied with a mounting kit, and the 4 m connection cable with Schuko plug is an accessory. APL-I, APL-II and the VDA 16 luminaire are supplied with a connection cable.
What do sense, remote and App Connect mean?
sense stands for an integrated motion detector. The sense remote DIM luminaires of the APL-I and APL-II series also have a brightness sensor and an IR remote control for dimming. App Connect remote DIM is switched and dimmed wirelessly via a battery-free push button.
What is the APL Universal VDA 16 designed for?
The VDA 16 luminaire is designed for inspection and quality control stations to the VDA 16 standard. Three light zones with 6,500 K on the outside and 4,000 K in the middle, Ra > 90 and a push-button dimmer for the whole module support the visual inspection of surfaces.
