Accessories for Locators
Cable and Utility Locating
Accessories extend the DD and Ultra locators to tasks that the receiver alone cannot handle. Sondes such as the Midi or Maxi Sonde 8/33 are pushed into non-metallic pipes and sewers and located there, while the Trace Rod 50 and 80 tracing rods carry the sonde through long sections. Signal clamps from 80 mm to 178 mm apply the signal without breaking into the line, and receiver clamps serve to identify a single cable within a bundle. The range also covers live mains adapter cables for energised lines, A-frames for sheath faults, RFID readers for marker balls, plus carrying bags, batteries and chargers.
| Group | Use | Feature |
|---|---|---|
| Midi and Maxi Sonde 8/33 | non-metallic pipes and sewers | 8 and 33 kHz, Maxi Sonde to 12 m depth |
| Trace Rod 50 and 80 | long sewer sections | 50 m or 80 m rod with 8 mm sonde |
| Signal clamps 80 and 178 mm | injection without disconnection | 256 Hz to 200 kHz, also as wideband version |
| Receiver signal clamp 4 inch | cable identification | picking the correct core within a bundle |
| 220 V live mains adapter cable | energised lines | signal injection through the service connection |
| A-frame and RFID reader | fault finding and markers | sheath fault locating, detection of passive marker balls |
Typical applications: Tracing plastic pipes and service connections with sonde and tracing rod, identifying individual cables in shared trenches, and upgrading existing DD and Ultra equipment for sheath fault locating and marker detection.
