In precision levelling the limiting factor is rarely instrument resolution, it is whether the set-up moves during the run. The Leica GST40 therefore deliberately does without telescopic legs. Its rigid wooden legs give a fixed standing height of 170 cm and take the typical settlement of clamped extensions out of the set-up.

Compatibility and scope of delivery

The flat head with 5/8 inch screw fits tribrachs, adapters and instruments to surveying standard, among them the automatic levels of the Leica NA series. Supplied as the GST40 tripod. For smooth hall floors or screed the Leica GST4 tripod star is the right addition, and where a telescopic tripod is needed the Leica GST20 is the matching alternative.
