Frequently asked questions
- Which protection type do I need?
- It depends on the hazard: Types 5 and 6 protect against particles and light splashes, Type 4 against spray, Type 3 against liquid jets and Type 1 against gases. ProSafe MP1 covers Type 5B/6B, Pyrolon CBFR Type 3 to 6, and the Interceptor 4 PLUS is a gas-tight Type 1a suit.
- What does the B in Type 5B/6B mean?
- The B indicates additional protection against biological hazards for the respective type.
- Are flame-retardant protective suits available?
- Yes, the Pyrolon CBFR and Pyrolon CRFR coveralls are flame-retardant. The CRFR also has heat-sealed seams.
- What is a Cool Suit?
- The Cool Suit versions of ChemMax 1 and ChemMax 3 have a ventilated back panel. This reduces heat stress during longer wear.
- Are the protective suits ESD-compliant?
- Only models marked ESD (antistatic) are specified as antistatic. No ESD property is given for the other suits.
