Frequently asked questions

Which types of protective gloves does this category cover?
Assembly gloves, cut-resistant gloves, winter gloves, chemical protection gloves and disposable nitrile gloves. At DS Safety Wear most of them belong to the Hi5 X series.
How do I read the EN 388 code?
The positions rate abrasion, cut (coup test), tear and puncture in that order. The final letter stands for cut resistance in the ISO test from A to F, and an X means not tested. A code such as 4X43F therefore indicates high cut resistance.
Are there ESD gloves for the EPA?
Yes, models marked ESD (antistatic), for example the Hi5 X ESD assembly glove with nitrile palm and carbon/elastane. No ESD property is specified for the other gloves.
Which size do I need?
Depending on the model, gloves are sized in letters from XXS to XXXL or in glove sizes from 7 to 12. Sizes 8 to 10 roughly correspond to M to XL.
Which glove is suitable for chemicals?
Chemical protection gloves made of butyl or nitrile, for example Butoject with a length of 350 mm and rolled cuff, or Hi5 X Chem to EN ISO 374-1 Type A. Check the code letters to see whether your substance is covered.
