This set combines the Leica Rugby 680, which drives slopes of up to ±8 percent in dual axis semi automatically and holds ±1.5 mm at 30 m, with the Rod Eye 160 digital receiver. It shows the height difference as a figure on a 90 mm display and resolves down to ±0.5 mm, and the working diameter of the set is 1100 m.

All Leica Rod Eye receivers of the red series with a detectable spectrum of 600 to 800 nm suit the Rugby 680, meaning Rod Eye 120 Basic, Rod Eye 140 Classic and Rod Eye 160 Digital. With the Rod Eye 120 Basic the working diameter is 900 m. The laser accepts either the A600 Li-Ion battery supplied here or the A150 holder for alkaline batteries.
