Motors with integrated controller
Motors and controllers
Festo EMCA motors with integrated controller combine an EC motor and motor controller in a single housing with a 67 mm flange. All 18 available variants are based on the EMCA-EC-67 and differ in body length (S = short, M = medium) and fieldbus connection: CANopen (-CO), digital I/O (-DIO), EtherNet/IP (-EP), PROFINET (-PN) and EtherCAT (-EC). The compact integrated format eliminates the installation space needed for a separate motor controller.
| Type | Body length | Encoder | Fieldbus |
|---|---|---|---|
| EMCA-EC-67-S-1TE-CO | S | Single-turn (1TE) | CANopen |
| EMCA-EC-67-M-1TM-CO | M | Multi-turn (1TM) | CANopen |
| EMCA-EC-67-S-1TE-DIO | S | Single-turn (1TE) | Digital I/O |
| EMCA-EC-67-S-1TE-EP | S | Single-turn (1TE) | EtherNet/IP |
| EMCA-EC-67-S-1TE-PN | S | Single-turn (1TE) | PROFINET |
| EMCA-EC-67-S-1TE-EC | S | Single-turn (1TE) | EtherCAT |
| EMCA-EC-67-M-1TM-EC | M | Multi-turn (1TM) | EtherCAT |
Typical applications: Decentralised drive units directly at the machine without a separate cabinet controller, rotary and swivel axes in handling and assembly machines, valve actuation and dosing stations in process technology, and applications where CANopen or EtherCAT networking is required directly in the motor.
