Short-stroke cylinder ND/NE
Cylinder
Short-stroke cylinders in the ND and NE series are flat-profile pneumatic actuators designed for applications where standard ISO cylinders would require excessive installation depth. The ND series operates double-acting with force in both directions, while the NE series is single-acting with spring return. The NDM variant adds a guided piston rod with integrated anti-rotation feature to prevent angular displacement of attached tooling.
Double-acting NDShort-stroke cylinder, double-acting, bores 12-100 mm
Single-acting NESpring return, one air connection, bores 12-100 mm
Double-acting with piston rod NDNDM series, anti-rotation guided piston rod
| Series | Operation | Feature | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| ND | Double-acting | Compact flat profile, no piston rod overhang | Clamping, positioning, short-stroke tasks |
| NE | Single-acting | Spring return, one air port | Triggers, slides, latches with spring-safe default |
| NDM | Double-acting | Anti-rotation guided piston rod | Tool carriers, grippers requiring fixed angular position |
Typical applications: ND/NE short-stroke cylinders are used wherever installation space is limited: clamping fixtures and work-holding in machine tools, ejection movements in presses and injection moulding machines, diverters and gates in conveyor systems, and as actuators in compact handling modules and assembly automation.
