Cables of 380 mm² normally call for a long two-hand tool. The 95 31 280 cable cutter severs copper and aluminium cables up to Ø 52 mm with a three-stage ratchet drive and measures only 280 mm, which still fits into a crowded distribution board.

According to the manufacturer the cutter is not suitable for steel wire, wire ropes and fine-stranded highly flexible conductors. This version is not insulated, a VDE version must be used for live working.

Standards and conformity

The manufacturer does not state a tool standard for the cutter itself, but refers to conductor classes 1 and 2 according to DIN EN 60228, VDE 0295 and IEC 60228 for the cables that can be cut. According to the manufacturer the tool contains no substances of very high concern under REACH. The RoHS directive does not apply.
