Anyone cutting heavy copper and aluminium cables in grid and switchgear work reaches the force limit of compact cable shears very quickly. The KNIPEX StepCut XL 95 18 225 combines a high leverage joint, long handles and a stepped cutting edge and manages fine stranded cables up to 120 mm² at a tool length of 225 mm.

Areas of use

Electrical installation, control cabinet and switchgear building, cable and grid construction, and service work on power distribution equipment. According to the manufacturer the shears are not suitable for steel reinforced cables such as ACSR.

Standards and conformity

For the handles the manufacturer states an insulating multi-component grip, VDE tested. No tool standard is named for this product. According to the manufacturer the shears contain no substances of very high concern under REACH, and the RoHS directive does not apply.
