In semiconductor production a coupling in the chemical line must not release metal ions into the medium. The Nitto Kohki Semicon Cupla SCT type has a PTFE body, works up to 0.2 MPa and is cleaned, assembled, inspected and packed in a clean room.

• Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) body with high resistance to chemicals
• No metal ions dissolve from the wetted parts, so the purity of high purity chemicals is preserved
• Shut-off valves in both socket and plug close on disconnection, so no medium escapes
• All components are cleaned, assembled, inspected and packed in a clean room
• Optional keyway coding in 10 patterns prevents connecting the wrong lines
• Working pressure up to 0.2 MPa (2 bar) for water, air, gases and high purity chemicals from +5 °C to +50 °C

• Wet processes with high purity chemicals where dissolved metal ions are a problem

• Changeover points with several similar lines, where the keyway coding secures the assignment
• Connections in five sizes from 1/4 inch to 1 inch with a minimum cross-sectional area of 12 mm² to 225 mm²

Compatibility

Different sizes cannot be connected to each other. Versions with a female Rc thread carry a V-groove on the body for identification, versions with a female NPT thread have no such groove on either socket or plug.

Standards and compliance

End connections are female Rc 1/4 to Rc 1 threads or NPT threads from 1/4-18NPT to 1-11.5NPT, the socket O-ring is FEP-covered fluoro rubber and the valve is made of fluoropolymer resin.
