Semicon SCT Cupla
Cleanroom technology
The Nitto Kohki Semicon SCT Cupla is a quick-release coupling whose body is manufactured entirely from PTFE and FEP, providing chemically inert media contact for aggressive process liquids and gases in semiconductor manufacturing. The range includes plugs (P-types) and sockets (S-types) in nominal sizes SCT-2 through SCT-8, each available with G and NPT threads. Disconnection is pressure-free, preventing particle ingress and contamination of the process environment.

Typical applications: Wet chemical processes in wafer fabrication (HF, H2SO4, NH4OH), gas panels with corrosive purge media, ultrapure water distribution (UPW) in fab environments, photolithography systems, and pharmaceutical and analytical equipment where a metal-free flow path and low-particle connections are required.

Operating principle
- SCT Type: Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is utilised for the body.
- SCT Type: Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE ) body gives excellent resistance to chemicals.
- SCT Type: Both socket and plug have built-in automatic shut-off valves that prevent fluid from outflowing when disconnected.
- SCT Type: No dissolution of metal ions from part in contact with liquid ensures excellent reliability.
- SCT Type: All components are cleaned, assembled, inspected and then packed in a clean room.
- SCT Type: Appropriate model can be selected form a wide variety of sizes to suit your application/fluid.
- SCT Type: Optional keyway lock to prevent incorrect connection. 10 keyway patterns are available.
- SCY Type: Fluorine contained resin packing seal and perfluoroelastomer packing seal are used to reduce required connection load and to achieve tight sealing.

Choose SEMICON CUPLA SCT Type where the parts in contact with the liquid must not release metal ions: the body is PTFE, the valve is PFA and the O-ring is FEP-covered fluoro rubber, at the same 0.2 MPa {2 kgf/cm2} and two-way shut-off as SEMICON CUPLA SP Type. SCT Type covers 1/4 inch to 1 inch with female ISO Rc and female NPT threads and offers an optional keyway lock with 10 keyway patterns against incorrect connection. Where a spill reduction version is required, SEMICON CUPLA SP Type provides it with its SCAL Type.

Interchangeability and size groups
SCT Type: Sockets and plugs can be connected regardless of end configurations if the number [] in the model name {SCT-[]S (P)} is the same. SCY Type: Can be connected with plugs of SCS Type of the same size; see the Interchangeability Check List (SCS Type, SCY Type) for details.
