Metal staff base for levelling staffs at the change point - Leica GLUS1

In line levelling the change point decides the accuracy of the whole run. If the staff stands directly on soft ground it settles between backsight and foresight, and the derived height difference is wrong. The Leica GLUS1 is the heavy base for exactly that moment, the staff rests on a solid metal bearing point that does not move between the two readings.

Applications

Line levelling over longer distances, transferring heights on site, settlement and check measurements, setting out from several instrument stations. Anywhere the staff has to be placed on soil, gravel, sand or freshly compacted ground and no firm point exists.

Compatibility and scope of delivery

The GLUS1 works with any levelling staff because it only provides the bearing point and has no holder or clamp. For a continuous run two bases are normally used, so a firm point is already in place at the next change point while the previous one is still occupied. The base is supplied singly, without a levelling staff.
