A 3 m invar staff cannot be held steady by hand for the length of a backsight and a foresight. Every sway feeds straight into the height reading. The GSL3 pair of struts braces the staff in two directions so that it stays unchanged between readings.

Compatibility and scope of delivery

Intended for the Leica precision staffs GPCL3 with barcode and GPLE3N with cm graduation, both 3 m long. The delivery consists of two struts. A transport case for the matching staffs is available as GVP470 (material number 555642).
