PIPER Pipe Lasers
Leica Geosystems Construction and Surveying
Pipe lasers set the line and the grade in sewer and pipeline construction. The instrument sits inside the pipe or in the manhole and projects its beam onto a target at the far end of the run, and every pipe section is aligned to that mark. Leica Geosystems supplies this class of instrument under the Piper name, with red and with green beams. This branch covers the lasers and complete packages together with the targets, mounts, batteries and transport cases that go with them.

Grade setting - The grade is entered as a percentage, positive or negative, and held over the full run.
Beam colour - Red or green: the green beam is considerably easier to see inside the pipe and at distance.
Range - The Piper instruments in this range work over distances of up to 200 m inside the pipe.
Ingress protection - The laser stands in a wet pipe, so watertight housings up to IP68 and IPX8 are what counts.
Operation - Self-levelling, infrared remote control with 150 m range and Alignmaster for line alignment.
| Series | Beam colour | Feature |
|---|---|---|
| Piper 100 | red | base instrument for pipe laying, laser class 2M available |
| Piper 100G | green | green beam, packages with target set, battery and charger |
| Piper 200 | red | with Alignmaster for line alignment, IR remote control |
| Piper 200G | green | Alignmaster and green beam, laser class 3R available |
Typical applications: New sewer runs, house connections and pressure lines as well as the rehabilitation of existing runs. Wherever line and grade have to be held from manhole to manhole.
