ESD Floor Mat Ground Cord, Conical Head, 10 mm Stud, 4.5 m to M5 Ring Terminal, 1 Megohm - Desco 60474

On the floor, a mat ground connection must stay flat and must not come loose when someone steps on the cord. The conical head of this ground cord sits flush with the mat to prevent tripping. The 10 mm stud has a threaded hole: with the supplied flat head screw and countersunk washer the cord is bolted firmly to the mat. At the other end, an M5 ring terminal connects to building ground via a 1 megohm resistor.

Applications

For grounding ESD floor mats and table mats with a 10 mm snap. Snap mounting: remove the screw and attach the cord to the mat socket. Permanent mounting: remove the screw, punch a hole through the mat with a 9.5 mm hole punch and secure the cord with the countersunk washer and screw. Ground each mat separately.

Standards

IEC 61340-5-1 calls for an easily accessible dedicated bonding point for the wrist strap at each workstation and for ground cords connecting all groundable items to EPA ground. A nominal 1 megohm resistor is common practice for grounding worksurfaces according to EN 61340-5-2.
