Coiled Cord 2 m, 10 mm Socket to 4 mm Socket, 1 Megohm, Yellow - Desco 230270

The coiled cord links the wrist strap to the ground point. This yellow 2 m cord has a 10 mm socket at the band end with a built-in 1 megohm resistor that limits current through the body in a fault. The other end carries a 4 mm socket. The coil keeps the cord short at the bench and stretches when the operator moves.

Applications

Personnel grounding at ESD workstations in production, repair and test, as a replacement or spare cord for existing wrist straps. Connect the cord to an earth bonding point (EBP), never clip it to the edge of a mat.

Standards

The current-limiting resistor at the band end follows IEC 61340-5-1 practice and the IEC TR 61340-5-2 user guide. Test band and cord together regularly with a wrist strap tester.
