This set pairs the Leica Ultra Advanced locator, which locates to 4.6 m, with the Ultra 12 W Advanced signal generator, whose high output function puts 12 W on frequencies below 10 kHz. AIM identifies the quietest frequency on the site before work starts.

Applications

Route survey ahead of excavation and cable laying, checking power, gas, water and telecom lines, locating large directly buried steel pipes and long line runs. With a sonde, non-metallic pipes and ducts are traced to 3.0 m, and the signal clamp energises the right line in chambers and cabinets. GPS logging on the Ultra Advanced feeds located points into network documentation.

Compatibility

The system takes signal clamps in 80, 125 and 175 mm, the receiver clamp, the stethoscope covering 50 Hz to 200 kHz and the standard and maxi sondes at 8 kHz or 33 kHz. Cable fault finding requires transmitter firmware v2.0 or higher and locator firmware v6.0 or higher, the EML accessory needs locator software v7.0 or higher.
