Standard control valves

Electrically and pneumatically operated directional control valves

Festo standard directional control valves are electrically or pneumatically operated valves whose port dimensions and interfaces are defined by international standards. The main standard series are ISO 5599-1 (directional valves with multi-stage valve body), ISO 15218 (CNOMO, automotive industry), and Namur to VDE/VDI 3845 for mounting on rotary actuators. The VSVA range extends the standard valve programme with three connection concepts: plug-in, single connector, and central connector. VSPA and VSNC valves complete the standard valve programme.

ISO 5599-1 - standardised base connections, sizes 1 to 3, maximum cross-manufacturer interchangeability
ISO 15218 (CNOMO) - MDH pilot valves for the automotive industry, 24 V DC / 110 V AC / 230 V AC
Namur VDE/VDI 3845 - NVF3-MOH range, direct mounting on ISO rotary actuators, for Ex zone II
VSVA plug-in / single / central connector - three wiring concepts for centralised and decentralised valve terminal architecture

Standard valves are selected primarily by the required standard (ISO 5599-1 for general industry, ISO 15218 for automotive, Namur for process plants with Ex zones) and wiring concept. Plug-in valves are the most compact solution for valve terminal configurations; single connectors allow decentralised mounting directly at the cylinder. Supply voltage (24 V DC standard, 110/230 V AC for special applications) and function (5/2 monostable, 5/2 bistable, 5/3 mid-exhaust) complete the selection.

Typical applications: PLC-controlled manufacturing systems with valve terminals, automotive industry (ISO 15218/CNOMO), process plants in Ex zone II with Namur valves, decentralised control with cylinder-adjacent valve mounting (single connector), and spare parts procurement and modernisation of existing systems.
