Utz is a Swiss manufacturer of containers, pallets and technical plastic parts for reusable logistics, headquartered in Bremgarten. The company was founded in 1947 and today operates as an international group.
For electronics production, Utz supplies ESD versions made of dissipative polypropylene: RAKO and RAKO II Euro containers, RAKO cases with hinged lid, Silafix open-front storage bins and matching lids and closures. Surface resistance is 1 x 10⁴ Ω to below 1 x 10¹¹ Ω according to DIN EN IEC 61340-5-3.

Choosing the right Utz container
Define footprint and height
The starting point is your existing storage and conveyor equipment:
- 600 x 400 mm: for racks, trolleys and conveyors in Euro dimensions, heights from 75 to 425 mm.
- 400 x 300 mm and 300 x 200 mm: for workstations, small parts and compact assemblies.
- 200 x 150 mm: for very small quantities, with a matching lay-on lid.
Open container, case or open-front bin
RAKO Euro containers suit storage and conveyor systems. RAKO cases have a permanently fitted hinged lid and a carrying handle for closed transport. Silafix open-front bins keep small parts within direct reach.
Lids and ESD suitability
RAKO Euro containers can be fitted with lay-on, hinged and hook lids made of dissipative ESD PP, and a dissipative snap closure keeps hinged and hook lids shut. The clear lids for Silafix are made of transparent polystyrene and are not ESD-safe. When handling unprotected ESD-sensitive components, this must be addressed in the ESD control programme.
