Electric screwdrivers
Bosch Rexroth Tightening Technology
Bosch Rexroth tightening technology is built for controlled, documented joints in series assembly. Every joint is tightened by torque and angle: a transducer records the values, the tightening system evaluates the joint and stores the result. The range covers the ErgoSpin and NEXO handheld nutrunners, the CS351 compact system, the modular System 350 and the TASS test equipment. Unlike clutch-type electric screwdrivers, which simply shut off at the set torque, this technology provides a record for every tightening point.
The subcategories follow the layout of a tightening station. ErgoSpin and NEXO handheld nutrunners cover manual workstations, while the CS351 and System 350 tightening systems with power modules, EC motors, planetary gearboxes, transducers and output drives make up fixtured spindles for fixtures and multi-spindle stations. TASS contains brake test elements and adapters for testing and setting the tools, and Cables and Accessories holds tool cables, angle heads, suspensions and NEXO accessories.

How to choose Bosch Rexroth Tightening Technology
What matters when choosing: properties, comparison and typical applications.
Selection criteria
| Criterion | Options | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Operation | Handheld or fixtured | Handheld nutrunners for manual workstations, fixtured spindles for fixtures, robots and multi-spindle stations |
| Control | CS351, System 350 or in the tool | CS351 runs one tool, System 350 several spindles with one power module each, NEXO carries its own controller |
| Torque | Handheld 1 to 220 Nm, fixtured 1.2 to 530 Nm | The type code states the maximum, ESA030 works up to 30 Nm |
| Power | Cable or battery | ErgoSpin on a tool cable, NEXO with battery and WLAN |
| Testing | TASS TR1 to TR4 | Brake test element by torque range, adapter by fastener profile |
| Cables | S for handheld, E for fixtured tools | Lengths from 3 to 20 m, straight or angled connectors |

FAQ
- How does this technology differ from a clutch-type electric screwdriver?
- A clutch screwdriver shuts off at the set torque. Rexroth nutrunners measure torque and angle with a transducer, and the tightening system evaluates and documents every joint.
- When should I choose CS351 and when System 350?
- CS351 combines controller and power module in one housing for exactly one tool. System 350 is modular, with one power module per spindle, and is designed for multi-spindle stations.
- Does NEXO need a separate controller?
- No. Controller, display and WLAN are inside the tool, so there is no cable to a controller.
- Which cable fits my tool?
- Cables with S in the code connect handheld nutrunners, cables with E connect fixtured spindles. The number gives the length in metres, the letters the connector shape, straight or angled.
