PACE Soldering
Hot air and hot gas nozzles
This category holds replacement nozzles for two PACE systems: hot air nozzles for the ST 300, ST 325 and ST 350 rework stations and hot gas nozzles for the ThermoJet TJ-85. The nozzles focus the stream on outlets from 1.52 to 8 mm and differ in shape and direction, straight, bent or flat. Tips for contact soldering are found in the neighbouring category of soldering and desoldering tips.

How to choose Hot air and hot gas nozzles
What matters when choosing: properties, comparison and typical applications.
Selection criteria
| Criterion | Options | Note |
|---|---|---|
| System | ST 300, ST 325, ST 350 (hot air), TJ-85 (hot gas) | Choose the nozzle according to the handpiece you use, the two series are designed separately. |
| Outlet | round 3, 5 or 8 mm, inner diameter 1.52 mm, flat 6.1 x 1.88 mm | Small outlets concentrate the heat, larger ones cover larger components. |
| Shape | straight, bent, bent at 60° | Bent nozzles reach joints from the side that are hard to access from above. |
| Stream pattern | round or flat | The flat nozzle spreads the stream over an elongated area. |

FAQ
- Do the hot air nozzles fit the ThermoJet TJ-85?
- No. The 4028 series hot air nozzles are designed for the ST 300, ST 325 and ST 350. The TJ-85 has its own hot gas nozzles of the 1259 series.
- When is a bent nozzle the better choice?
- When the joint is hard to reach from above, for example between tall components. The bent nozzle body brings the stream in at an angle and allows a more relaxed hand position.
- Which outlet size do I need?
- That depends on the component size. Small outlets such as 3 mm or 1.52 mm heat neighbouring parts less, 8 mm covers larger components.
