Disposable ESD Wrist Strap with Copper Foil Ground End, 1.5 m - Desco 2209

Visitors, field engineers at a customer site or the recipient of a memory upgrade rarely have a wrist strap at hand. Desco disposable wrist strap 2209 grounds the wearer for a single use. A hypoallergenic adhesive holds the conductive strip against the skin all the way round, while the other end sticks to any ground point or equipment chassis with copper foil and conductive adhesive. A current limiting resistance of 5 x 10⁶ ohms nominal is built into the strip.

Applications

Visitors in the EPA, field service and on-site repairs, packed with memory modules, add-in cards and other ESD sensitive items so they are unpacked and installed while grounded. To use: unwrap about 30 cm from the band end and wrap the adhesive side around the wrist, unroll the rest, peel the liner from the copper foil and attach it to ground or the equipment frame. Not for equipment operating above 250 V AC. The strap is for static control and does not protect against electric shock.
