Insulators such as board material or component packages cannot be grounded. Their charge has to be neutralised with ionized air. The Chargebuster 50682 mounts above the workstation and covers a 2 x 4 ft area (approx. 0.6 x 1.2 m) with two fans. It discharges in less than 3 seconds (measured at 18 in) with an offset voltage of +/- 10 V, meeting the +/- 35 V limit of ANSI/ESD S20.20.

Applications

Standards

Discharge time and offset voltage meet ANSI/ESD S20.20, tested per ANSI/ESD STM3.1 and ESD TR53. Ionization per EN 61340-5-2 as a measure for objects that cannot be grounded, periodic maintenance and verification required.
