How does GTI EL5 Cleantech differ from GTI EL5 Connect?

Both tiles share the same conductive construction and 6 mm thickness. Cleantech measures 650 x 650 mm, has straight edges and is heat welded, which gives a liquid-tight surface. Connect measures 635 x 635 mm and interlocks through a dovetail profile, so it stays removable and needs no weld seam.

What resistance does GTI EL5 Cleantech achieve?

To EN 1081 the through resistance Rt is between 5 x 10^4 and 10^6 ohms. To IEC 61340-4-1, IEC 61340-4-5 and ANSI/ESD S7.1 the resistance is at most 10^9 ohms. Body voltage generation stays below 2 kV to EN 1815 and below 100 V to IEC 61340-4-5, measured with ESD footwear.

Does the covering have to be earthed?

Yes. A conductive floor covering is connected to the equipotential bonding through copper strips in the substrate. The number and position of the earthing points depend on the floor area and are described in the installation guide available for download in this category.

GTI EL5 Cleantech is a conductive vinyl tile from Gerflor, 650 x 650 mm at 6 mm overall thickness. The tile is laid without adhesive but has straight edges and is heat welded, which produces a closed, liquid-tight surface. The backing is a mix of carbon granules and recycled vinyl, so charge is dissipated through the full thickness of the covering. This makes it suitable for EPA areas and ATEX zones that also carry cleanroom or hygiene requirements.
