The socket belongs on the supply side and carries the full-open valve as well as the sleeve lock. After connection sleeve B is slid towards the plug, which opens the valve to the full passage, and the flange locks the sleeve against accidental release. To disconnect, the flange is turned back and sleeve B is pulled back, closing the valve and venting the residual pressure in a controlled way. Every coupling in an air line throttles the flow and makes the compressor deliver more. The Nitto Kohki Full-Blow Cupla opens the passage completely through a gate type valve and reaches up to 40 % more flow than conventional Cupla couplings.

Operating principle

On disconnection the valve in the socket closes the supply line. The fluid left in the plug escapes.
  • The flow rate is increased by up to 40% more than that of HI CUPLA.
  • During connection and disconnection, the valve is closed, enabling connection/disconnection under zero line pressure.
  • When the sleeve of socket is returned to its original position, the purge mechanism releases the residual air pressure in the plug, eliminating unpleasant popping noise and hose whip motion on disconnection.
  • Separation prevention mechanism prevents accidental disconnection of CUPLA, ensuring safe operation.
  • The valve can be opened and closed while the socket and plug are connected.
  • The weight is reduced by 30 to 45% compared with that of conventional CUPLA.

Choose FULL BLOW CUPLA when the air line works at up to 1.5 MPa {15 kgf/cm2} and the 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2} of MICRO CUPLA, SMALL CUPLA, COMPACT CUPLA, CUBE CUPLA and SUPER CUPLA is not enough. Against the equally rated HI CUPLA, HI CUPLA 200, LINE CUPLA 200 and HI CUPLA ACE it adds the purge of the residual air pressure in the plug and valve opening and closing in the connected state, while staying one-way shut-off and interchangeable with plugs of the HI CUPLA series. Where the line itself has to shut off, it is preferable to the straight through LEVER LOCK CUPLA.

Applications

Compatibility

The sockets connect with plugs of HI Cupla models 10, 17, 20, 30 and 40 and are interchangeable with the other products of the HI Cupla series. Some plugs of the plastic HI Cupla 250 are not interchangeable.

Standards and compliance

End sizes are 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" as Rc and R threads or hose barbs, tightening torques are 14 Nm, 22 Nm and 60 Nm, the sealing material is nitrile rubber (NBR, marked SG) for -20 °C to +60 °C.
