Pipe laser package green beam 200 m laser class 2M with IR remote control - Leica Piper 100G 2M

Setting out grades and levels inside a pipe is what this package is built for. The Leica Piper 100G 2M pipe laser projects a green 520 nm beam over a working range of under 200 m and holds a self-levelling accuracy of ± 1.5 mm over 30 m. The IR remote control supplied with the package shifts the line and drives the functions from up to 150 m away, so nobody has to climb into the manhole for every correction.

Key benefits

• Green 520 nm beam, four times more visible than a red one. That extends the usable measuring distance from the instrument position and improves levelling accuracy, including in bright surroundings. It is the reason the green version is widely used in water and wastewater applications.
• Laser class 2M with a maximum average radiant power of 1.2 mW. The 3R versions call for additional safety measures in some countries, this 2M version lets crews work without that extra effort and keeps the full working range of under 200 m.
• Automatic grade compensation. If the housing rolls by up to ± 3° inside the pipe, the Piper detects the resulting grade error and corrects it by itself.
• Grade range from -10 % to +25 % and self-levelling range from -15 % to +30 % cover the falls used in sewer and pipeline construction.
• Li-ion battery for up to 40 h of operation with a 4 h charging time, plus a cast aluminium housing, IPx8 protection and a working range from -20 °C to +50 °C.
• Instrument diameter of only 96 mm, so the laser fits into pipes from 100 mm or 4 in upwards.

Applications

Sewer and pipeline construction, wastewater lines and house connections. The laser works inside the pipe, over the top and out of the manhole. The green beam pays off wherever daylight or bright pipe walls swallow a red dot, which means long runs and water and wastewater applications.

The package is ready to work straight out of the box, instrument, power supply, charging equipment, target assembly and remote control are all included. Further Piper accessories such as additional target plates, spare GEB221 batteries or a second GEV192 power supply can be ordered separately. Target plates and inserts are chosen by pipe diameter, for small nominal sizes the PTC100 target plate with 100 mm is available.

Standards and shipping

The laser is a class 2M laser product according to IEC 60825-1:2014. The protection class is IPx8, which is the manufacturer statement on water tightness. The package contains a lithium-ion battery and is labelled and shipped accordingly.
