On machines and test rigs, lines are disconnected and reconnected several times a day. The Multi Cupla series from Nitto Kohki covers that job with 120 versions in brass, steel or stainless steel, each available as a socket and as the matching plug.

Operating principle

Series comparison

Pick the MULTI CUPLA MAM-B Type when air or water at 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2} has to be changed over on 6 to 12 ports in one operation and both halves must seal on disconnection, since the two-stage manual lever and the lock mechanism deliver that without any external drive. The MAM Type is one-way shut-off with a valve on the socket side only and is rated 0.7 MPa {7 kgf/cm2}, while the MAM-A Type shares the 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2} rating and two-way shut-off. For higher pressures, look at the MAS Type and MAT Type at 7.0 MPa {71 kgf/cm2} or the MALC-HSP Type at 21.0 to 25.0 MPa {214 to 255 kgf/cm2}.
