The PCV Cupla clamps straight onto a copper pipe, so no welding or flaring is needed at the test point. One lever stroke clamps and seals in a single move, and once connected the joint holds a vacuum down to 1.3 x 10-1 Pa at a working pressure of 4.5 MPa.

• Clamps directly onto straight copper pipe, removing welding and flaring from every test cycle
• Double seal on the pipe end face and outer surface holds a vacuum down to 1.3 x 10-1 Pa
• Working pressure of 4.5 MPa with a brass body covers leak testing and refrigerant charging
• Three seal materials cover different temperature windows: CR from -20 °C to +80 °C, HNBR from -20 °C to +120 °C, FKM from -20 °C to +180 °C
• Valveless design lets fluid flow in either direction, from the plug side or from the socket side
• Models cover pipe outside diameters from 4.0 mm to 15.88 mm with R 1/4, R 3/8 or blind plug ends

Compatibility

The PCV Cupla is intended for straight copper pipe only, and the model is selected by pipe outside diameter from 4.0 mm to 15.88 mm. Minimum pipe wall thickness is 0.8 mm or 1.0 mm depending on size.

Standards and compliance

Standard seal materials are fluoro rubber FKM (X-100), hydrogenated nitrile rubber HNBR (H708) and chloroprene rubber CR (C308), with HNBR coloured blue for easy recognition.
