The plug is the inserted coupling half and is fitted at the end of the line. It is pushed into the socket by hand and held there. On parting it stays with its own section of line. Model RE-PV-30, brass, Seal material NBR.
A line that is vented before it is parted needs a defined point for that step. The Purge Line Cupla is the coupling for such purge and vent lines, and model RE-PV-30 has a brass body and a nitrile rubber (NBR) seal.

Operating principle
On disconnection the valve in the socket closes the supply line. The fluid left in the plug escapes.
Residual pressure can be released by a mere lever turn. Very smooth connection/disconnection!
Single action, just push in the plug to connect regardless of internal pressure in socket.
No unpleasant noise of air pressure discharge and no hose whip motion on disconnection for safety operation.
Safe design - socket valve will not open or close unless plug is connected.
Even after connection, a lever turn will open/close valve with perfect control of air flow or line shut-off.
Enables simultaneous air supply to three outlets from a single air line. (A single outlet PURGE HI CUPLA is also available - see the pages of PURGE HI CUPLA for details.)

Choose PURGE LINE CUPLA when one air line has to feed three outlets and residual pressure must be released before disconnection: the lever on each PV-30SM outlet socket opens and closes the valve even after connection, which the plain one-way shut-off siblings HI CUPLA BL, NUT CUPLA, LOCK CUPLA 200, HI CUPLA Two Way Type, ROTARY LINE CUPLA, ROTARY FULL BLOW LINE CUPLA, ROTARY PLUG and TWIST PLUG do not offer. For a single outlet with the same purge function, PURGE HI CUPLA is the counterpart. Its working pressure is 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2}, so lines running at 1.5 MPa {15 kgf/cm2} call for one of the 1.5 MPa {15 kgf/cm2} series instead, and where two-way shut-off with reduced spillage is required, COMPACT ZEROSPILL CUPLA applies.
