Fittings on pipes, brake lines or hydraulic lines cannot be reached with a closed ring spanner because the line is in the way. The OPEN RING insert tool 733/10 has an open ring head that slips sideways over the line and turns a torque wrench with a 9 x 12 mm tool holder into a tool for union nuts with 16 mm across flats. The bi-hex still grips the nut on its flanks, so the tightening torque is applied in a controlled way. At 30.5 mm wide and 13 mm high the head stays slim, and it weighs 65 g.
